Best all-in-one I found for Mac Mitchell MD This is the latest version of the Brother MFC-8860, and is a step ahead of the MFC-8480, as proposed by the 8890 full-duplex scanning, copying and faxing. The MFC-8480 only provides duplex printing. I Mac - many of them - so I looked around for a while 'for a laser multifunction machine I could use for printing, scanning, copying and faxing from time to time. I am very impressed with this machine up to date, and following the installation from the CD, everything just worked. The printer driver is installed, it includes a fax option directly in the driver itself (at print setting tabs), and TWAIN driver for scanning, and so was their Control Center software that provides access to all settings for the printer documentation and a set of custom presets for the different functions of the printer (most useful for scanning different types of documents to different applications on the Mac, including an OCR function) The duplex is great - the ADF read both pages of documents for copying, scanning, faxing and even. The most expensive models (like 8480 and a Canon MF4370 I recently tested) only in duplexing is on, but 8890 should be read as well as to produce two-page documentation for each function. Networking Opportunities for Mac is also top-notch, with both wired and wireless networking capabilities, you can use all the features of the machine over the network, with seemingly fast transfer speeds, and high-resolution color scanning. Incidentally, my previous provider favorite printer, Canon is not compatible with network scanning any of its multifunction printers Mac, but that is not apparent until you buy one and try it - your support has since told me this is true I think the only 8890 that the brother was not over the network for Mac is a fax - is compatible with any Windows fax server that Apple has no equivalent. But since you can simply scan a document and send it to your Mac over the network instead, it matters little. So if you want a machine fully compatible with networks that works with Mac, this is your machine. The 8480 is a little less expensive, but not fully compatible with two-sided printing, to people in need of a simple office. 46 of 47 people found this review helpful. Another good all-in-one brother JB This is my third or fourth Brother All in One I've always had luck with the brand and so far this is no different. It worked very well out of the box, even if the wireless LAN was not easy, but even I, a non-techie, I have to work one hour or so after the move. I also received your fax setup to work with my 2-handset phone with integrated answering machine with remote control (always a nail biter). Regarding the problem wrinkles envelope, just follow the instructions of another reviewer posted here (thank you) Open the back door and along the handles to push the envelope marked. Now I walk my machine with these levers to less than 100% of the time without problems. Also prints on plain paper, labels and envelopes. The scanner works well for business documents and duplex is very cool. Fax I do not much use, but the incoming faxes work fine. 53 of 56 people found the following review helpful. servicable, reliable good value, but has its problems by Brian I bought it when I opened my own law firm. I have a small real estate company, but I am going through a lot of printing and copying, this machine has been reliable and I use it with my laptop and WiFi. I bought the extra tray for legal paper, which was quite easy to install (even if you have to lift the printer and put it all down just right on top of tray 2, a kind of a sensitive and difficult) and reliable select the correct paper size automatically. The Good:.
