I like Brother. It is smaller and quieter. It does not have a couple of times a day to calibrate either. Scans are much faster than HP and scan quality if much better than HP. Copies and printouts are good, as expected. I do not ever fax, so I can not solve them, they are skills. I found a limitation with this printer, which prevented me from doing it five stars. The printer can only be used as a network printer connected to the router with an Ethernet cable or it can be a workstation printer supports a PC via a USB cable. If you are using Windows network printer (ie connected to a PC via USB and print sharing enabled) to share, it is not supported. What? You have it. Brother, you can not share the printer that does not need to be established as a network printer connected to the router, this is a problem if, like me, the router is not near the printer and want to do a lot of scans with PC-based public services to the small screen in front printer. You can scan with it as a network printer, but can only do so with the function keys on the printer itself. You lose focus on the benefits of PC-based software. If you do any volume of the search, you want to gain enabled computer. I could fix the problem and keep it running as I wanted but it took a couple days of work in and out to solve. I called Brother Support. He spoke kindly to me that the printer is not compatible with what I wanted to do and I would return it. What? Unbelievable! For this to function as a USB shared printer is connected, you have to go through the installation CD on each computer. It's good when you understand the process. The only restriction that remains is to quickly create a temporary use shared Say your brother is in town this weekend and need to print. He can not use Windows "Add Printer" function and get to your Brother printer. You have to go find the CD and perform a full installation of your Brother-in-law in his home Mapquest to print directions. It's not a huge problem, but a brother should not have designed it this way. Hope it helps someone. 15 of 18 people found this review helpful. Excellent product by Trevor Tally So far I have had a great experience with the printer. My Brother MFC-9440CN broken and I was looking for something similar, but more economical to use. MFC-9120CN has filled the bill perfectly. - Print quality is very good - has the same features as more expensive printers. - Prints fast - Cost <$ 100 to replace all 4 cartridges. I highly recommend the MFC-9120CN for anyone who wants a feature-rich printer at a very reasonable price. 5 of 5 people found this review helpful Poor quality by Victor L Hatridge Brother 9120CN have very small adjustments to make copies - you can not help enough for a clean copy of a newspaper to get - something my old HP 2840MFP neatly treated. Standard computer printout is OK, because it would most one laser printer, but the manual feed slot is bad. It appears only one inch, so it will not support the paper, then you each sheet until it flows - very inconvenient. The first time I used the manual feed, I experienced the problem that others have reported that the printer says it is a paper jam, even if it is not. But go through a long process to restore the printer, but to repeat the error. I wish I had not bought turkey, but the brother refused to let me back after I stated all these issues.
